POLITICS? REALLY?

So, if you pay any attention to this blog- you will get this.  If you don't go back and read- WARNING!  CONTENT NOT SUITABLE FOR ALL READERS. Pyper was riding to gymnastics on Tuesday with her carpool.  Well, we call it a carpool- actually it is just her and one other girl.  Anyway- Pyper decides to ask the little girls mom, (who also happens to be the primary president)  if she went to vote.  My friend told me about their conversation.  It went something like this...

pyper:  "Did you make it to the polls today?"

friend:  "No I usually don't get too excited until the big vote.  I'll go then."

pyper:  " Just make sure you don't vote for Hillary Clinton.  My mom says she's evil, and scary."

friend:  "Oh really, why?"

pyper:  "Because she wants mom's to marry mom's and dad's to marry dad's."

friend:  "Okay then."

friends daughter:  "What does that mean?"

friend:  "Well, we all belong to the same church and we don't believe that that is okay.  But it's probably not something that we should talk about at gymnastics.  Some people don't believe the same things that we do, and we don't want to hurt their feelings."

friends daughter:  "If all the mom's marry the other mom's, then there would be lots of babies and no dad's to help take care of them."

pyper:  "No, if there were no dad's then there would be no babies- because you need a women and a man to make a baby."

*** Keep in mind- the friends 2 other younger kids are in the car.***

friend:  "Okay!  Let's talk about something else please!"

***for the record- we are not a particularly political family.  I am not up on all of the candidates beliefs.  It is not a topic of conversation in our house.  I may have said that Hillary scares me- but I never said she was evil- and we certainly never talked about gay marriage!

So let me apologize in advance for any conversations that you might have with my daughter. She's a work in progress!
